Rates checked 2026-10-06. One item per order; US domestic USD model. eBay preset covers most categories without a Store. Etsy preset uses US payment processing. Additional account/category/international/currency fees, refunds and tax on seller fees are excluded unless entered as costs. This is not net business income or a prediction of sales.

Check the preset before relying on a number

This release models US domestic USD transactions, one item per order. The eBay preset is for most categories without a Store; it does not cover special-category rates, Store discounts, international sales or seller penalties. Etsy uses a US bank-account processing rate. Canada, the UK and EU need different presets and are not represented by changing the currency symbol. Additional fees and expenses can be entered as dollar costs, but this does not make an unsupported account fully modeled.

Revenue is not the checkout total

Buyer sales tax is included when calculating the relevant payment or final-value fee base, but excluded from your revenue. The tax percentage is your scenario input, not a location-based tax determination. Postage charged to the buyer is revenue; postage you pay is a separate cost. The result is contribution profit before unallocated overhead and income tax.

Date and fee sources

Preset rates were checked on 6 October 2026. The eBay most-category model uses 13.6% through $7,500 of sale value and 2.35% above, plus a $0.30 order fee through $10 or $0.40 above. Etsy uses a 6.5% transaction fee, US payment processing of 3% plus $0.25, and a manually chosen Offsite Ads rate capped at $100 per attributed order. Listing fees are entered separately. Recheck the linked official schedules before relying on an estimate.

A transparent eBay example

A $50 item plus $5 shipping and an 8% tax assumption on both gives a $59.40 fee base. The modeled final-value percentage is $8.08 after cent rounding, plus $0.40 per order. With $15 item cost, $5 postage and $1 packaging, contribution profit is $25.52 from $55 revenue, a 46.4% margin. This example has no listing or advertising cost.

Price goals are scenarios

The tool searches cent-priced scenarios for break even and your chosen margin while holding shipping, costs and tax assumptions fixed. It also shows a 10% lower and higher item-price scenario. A calculated price says nothing about demand or what a buyer will pay. Marketplace invoices may round or group charges differently, so compare the breakdown to your own account.

Questions, answered

Does this support every eBay category?
